Office manager advertised position in VESTA Resource Center supported by TACSO:

Vesta Resource Center (Vesta RC), supported by TACSO, seeks to hire the Office manager, as a member of its team in implementation the EU DG Enlargement project: Capacity Building of Civil Society in the IPA Countries & Territories in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TACSO).

The role and responsibility of the VESTA RC Office manager is to support the senior experts, in the implementation of the project and activities foreseen in the Action plan. Additional responsibility is to support other Vesta’s activities in Sarajevo office when required.

Background:

The aim of the TACSO project is to strengthen civil society within participative democracy, to stimulate a civil society-friendly 'environment' and culture. This should be done by strengthening the overall capacities and accountability of CSOs and to supporting the quality of services of CSOs and a sustainable role of CSOs in the democratic process.

Vesta RC supported by TACSO has been established in the intention that gradually, during the following three years, develops necessary capacities and assumes responsibility for the delivery of services presently offered by TACSO. Office manager is to support and provide assistance to VESTA RC senior experts in implementation of the activities for the benefit of the civil society in BiH, included in the TACSO BH and Vesta RC Terms of Reference and Work Plan.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

- Operate a help desk for CSOs and provide a demand basis ad hoc advice/support to CSOs and other stakeholders (direct, e-mails, on-line, etc.).

- Support to actions aimed to increase the visibility of civil society in BiH.

- Preparation of the periodical newsletter to increase the visibility of activities of Vesta RC supported by TACSO and TACSO BH.

- Translation of relevant documents when required.

- Assistance to organisation and implementation of information and partnership events.

- Organization of different events on EU policies (information events, EU calls for proposal or similar content, conferences, workshops).

- Support to engagement of CSO/CSO stakeholders from Bosnia and Herzegovina to TACSO regional activities.

- Updating the existing on line CSOs database with data after the events.

- Maintaining close collaboration with national CSOs.

- Implementation of other office duties that might arise, relevant to the work of Vesta RC in Sarajevo office.

- Technical capacities and knowledge in using relevant programs for elementary statistics.

- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with grassroots level as well as with high ranking officials.

- Analytical and problem solving skills.

Required Education, Skills and Experiences:

- A university degree or secondary degree with minimum five years of relevant experience.

- At least five years of experience in development projects and work with NGO/CSOs.

- At least three years of experience in organization of events, trainings, conferences etc.

- Excellent computer skills (MS Office).

- Experience in using program for elementary statistics and newsletter development (Monkey Survey and Monkey Chimps).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in BHS and English language.
