Realization of multi-sector workshops

For the purpose of the implementation of the project The media in the process of reintegration and sustainable return, supported by the European Union, with the goal to improve the conditions and increase the possibility for sustainable return and reintegration of minority returnees into the local community, Association Vesta logistically prepared four multi-sector workshops in four municipalities in Northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina: Tuzla, Bijeljina, Sapna and Bratunac, where it presented a multi-sector approach to the implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information.

In addition to the representatives of the local authorities, the workshops were attended by the representatives of minority returnee communities and the representatives of the media from the area of Northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina (Srebrenica, Vlasenica, Milići, Bratunac, Zvornik, Bijeljina, Kalesija, Sapna, Ugljevik, Lopare, Tuzla, Čelić, Lukavac, Banovići, the Brčko District). Since the three above-mentioned groups of beneficiaries make a strong basis for sustainable return, the aim of the workshop was to encourage dialogue among all participants and to improve their mutual cooperation for the purpose of creating a better basis for further work on reconciliation and more efficient reintegration.

Furthermore, the purpose of the workshops was to present to each participant the Law on Free Access to Information and to develop mechanisms for its more efficient implementation. Previous education programmes on this topic did not have a multi-sector approach, and the promotion of the Law was mainly organized for individual interest groups. For that reason, this project activity presented the challenge of teamwork in the efficient implementation of the Law, which will hopefully result in better outcomes in practice. The presentation of the Centre for Free Access to Information focused on the mechanism of action and a practical implementation of the Law on Free Access to Information, stressing the importance of each participant in its implementation and encouraging them to act collectively.

Concurrently with holding the workshops, for the purpose of the promotional campaign and raising the public's awareness of the advantages offered by the Law on Free Access to Information, Association Vesta produced 10 half-hour radio shows From a different angle via Vesta Radio, which are broadcast through a network of radio stations in Northeastern Bosnia
