Training for the improvement of the energy efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Tuzla Municipality

The project of Association Vesta, which was financially supported by the Tuzla Municipality, is a contribution towards the implementation of the policy of energy efficiency in accordance with EU standards, and other obligations that the state must fulfill on its road to the EU, and is specifically directed on supporting entrepreneurs through training and awareness-raising.

Association Vesta is planning to realize activities which are directly related to the guidelines from the Tuzla Municipality Strategic Plan. Namely, one of the principles of the Strategy is that "economic growth is based on private property, which is the only one to ensure new employment, while the growth of SMEs is a key factor for the development of market economy." In addition, the guidelines indicate that "[t]he strategic vision of obtaining and promoting an ecologically healthy environment requires parallel use of "economic" and "non-economic" instruments for environmental protection, i.e. the consolidation of economic and ecological factors. These measures, among others, include an increase in economic saving and a decrease in production costs.

Since the strategy proposes concrete activities which are concerned with the continual training of entrepreneurs and the local communities in preserving the eco-system, Vesta is going to realize the following activities:

• Preparation and organization of 6 presentations in the local communities of the Tuzla municipality
• Preparation and analysis of small enterprises and their knowledge of energy efficient management
• Preparation and realization of a media campaign for the selection of a small enterprise where experts in energy audit would perform an ad hoc evaluation
• Preparation and publishing of publications on energy efficiency in small enterprises

Association Vesta will promote the entire project via Vesta Radio, its own non-profit radio station which is active within the organization. At least 10 radio programmes will be produced.
